Sinica Sinoweb database
Thanks to the generous donation of the National Central Library of Taiwan and within the framework of the recently inaugurated Taiwan Research Centre for Chinese Studies the Sinica Sinoweb database, providing full-text approach to 14 journals has become available in our Library. The database is accessible within our IP-range.

The manuscripts of the Kaufmann collection are available on-line
Thanks to the two year cooperation between our Library and the National Library of Israel the digitised manuscripts of the Kaufmann collection have become available on the new website of the Ktiv project of the NLI. This project aims to assemble and present at a common surface all the Hebrew manuscripts available worldwide.
Up till now the continually growing database contains nearly 46 thousand manuscripts from 43 institutions.

Conservation of select, endangered codices from the Kaufmann Collection
A 15 months long project ended in the Oriental Collection of the Library aiming at the conservation of 32 highly endangered Hebrew manuscripts of the Kaufmann collection.
The project was realized by paper conservator Eszter Fodor and objects conservator László Kalocsai.

Taiwan Resource Centre for Chinese Studies
On 16th of May the Taiwan Resource Centre for Chinese Studies was inaugurated at the Oriental Collection of the Library and Information Centre of the Hungarian Academy of Sciences.
By this collaborative project, the National Central Library of Taiwan will support Hungarian Sinology with regular donation of books and by making available various databases on Taiwan and Chinese studies.
The cooperation agreement was signed by Director General Prof. Dr. Tseng Shu-hsien, National Central Library, R.O.C. (Taiwan) and Director General Prof. Dr. István Monok, Library and Information Centre of the Hungarian Academy of Sciences. The signing ceremony was accompanied by a lecture on the history of Taiwan research in Hungary and a small exhibition of Taiwan related books from the holdings of the Oriental Collection.

Beng ü Bade (Grass and Wine)
In December the Library launched its new series Lichniae, containing selections from our manuscripts in facsimile and Hungarian translation, accompanied by notes and a short study.
For the first volume a small epic poem (translated by Benedek Péri) was selected. The text can be found in Ms Persian O. 87, dated 1756, of the Oriental Collection.
This small epic, entitled Beng ü Bade (Grass and Wine) was written by Muhammad Fuzúli, a highly influential 16th century Turkish poet.
